Cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) refers to brain functional abnormalities caused by small vessel damage, while oral mucosal disease refers to chronic inflammation or immune-mediated diseases of the mucosa. In recent years, some studies have shown a certain correlation between CSVD and oral mucosal disease, especially in the association between their risk factors. This review will summarize the relationship between these two diseases and their potential mechanisms, and summarize the current research progress in this field. |
